April 01, 2016

Taiwan's leading machinery maker, Hiwin Technologies, plans to build its China Operation Headquarters, together with a logistics center, R&D (Research and Development) center, and precision manufacturing center in Suzhou, China, in response to China's "Made In China 2025" strategy, reported China Times on March 30. The total investment of the construction is estimated at $800 million RMB (US$123.7 million; US$1=6.4 RMB). The investment projects are expected to create an annual sales revenue of around $2.6 billion RMB (US$402.1 million) and around 900 employment opportunities, said the company. These facilities, which are slated to put into production in 2017, will mainly develop and manufacture high-end precision products such as ballscrews, linear guideways, live tooling, special bearings, industrial robots, and medical equipment.
